动名词的用法：
（１） 作主语
Playing basketball is my favorite sport.
打篮球是我最喜欢的运动。
Travelling with friends at weekends is fun.
周末和朋友们旅行是愉快的。
注意:动名词做主语可用it作形式上的主语。如：
It is fun travelling with friends at weekends.
（２） 作宾语
I enjoy playing computer games.
我喜欢玩电脑游戏。
He gave up smoking five years ago.
他五年前就戒烟了。
（３） 作表语
What he hated most was doing nothing.
他最讨厌什么都不做。
Seeing is believing.
眼见为实。
（４） 作定语
There’s a dining room in our school.
All the people watching laughed.
所有看着的人们都笑了。
（５） 动名词的复合结构”物主代词（或名词的所有格）+动名词”。如：
Tom’s going to school late made her mother angry.
汤姆去学校迟到了使他的`妈妈很生气。
Would you mind my opening the window?
你介意我打开窗户吗？
3．后面常接动名词的动词和短语
（1）mind（介意）, enjoy（喜欢，享受）, finish（完成） imagine（想象）
（2）keep（保持）, suggest（建议）, advise（建议，提议）, allow（允许）, permit（许诺）, consider（考虑）
（3）be used to doing（习惯于做某事）, look forward to doing（期盼着做某事）, stick to doing （坚持做某事）, pay attention to doing（注意）, devote to doing（致力于做某事）
（4）be busy doing（忙于做某事）, can’t help doing（情不自禁做某事）, it is no good doing（做某事是不好的）, it is no use doing（做某事是无用的）, be worth doing（值得做某事）等
